Dining and Bidding in Style
The light snow didn’t keep the 213 bidders away from the 13th Annual Rebuilding Together Auction.
Rebuilding Day President Wayne Palmer stated: “I am thankful for the generosity and hard work of the Rim O’ the World Association of Realtors, who put on the event. Thanks also to the Lake Arrowhead Country Club, a huge donor, who not only generously donated
their facility to house the event, but included a wonderful prime rib dinner with all the trimmings.”
Before Auctioneer John Wood got started with the auction he shared, “With every organization there are a couple of spark plugs that make it work. For Rebuilding Day the two spark plugs are Carol Banner and Cyndy Davidson who organized the auction. To see the appreciation of the homeowners (on Rebuilding Day) is really something. All of you are a part of it.”
Some of the items that went up for auction were: A
week’s stay in a condo in Kauai, a home alarm system, a hand crafted wood table, an antler lamp, inlaid arrowhead pendants plus many more goods and services.
The bidding was robust for the “Slave for a Day” the Rebuilding Together Board members offered. This auction item was valued at $300 and the bidding got heated. The final bid was a whooping $450.
At the end of the evening everyone was full of prime rib and walked away with goods and services that sold for over $15,000, knowing that they had contributed to a worthwhile cause.
