Message from the President

2011 was another great year for Rebuilding Together.  Our Home Selection Committee did a fine job last fall selecting the projects for us this year.  As a result, we repaired 6 homes last April for very deserving home owners.  Although we were on a very limited budget this year, the generosity in donated materials (chiefly Rim Forest Lumber) and labor, enabled us to complete an enormous amount of work on each of the homes.  The hard work and selfless efforts of Our Project Manager, House Captains, Coordinators, trade and non-trade volunteers made it all possible.  They did a very fine job.  On that day, they changed the homes and lives of so many forever.  There is not enough room in this message to do justice to the great efforts and generosity of so many that made our Rebuilding Day all that it was.

Once again, our fund raising far exceeded our expectations.  Though the economy is still doing badly we raised a surprising amount of money at our annual auction.  I am thankful for the generosity and hard work of the Rim O’ the World Association of Realtors, who put on the event.  Thanks also to the Lake Arrowhead Country Club, a huge donor, who not only generously donated their facility to house the event, but included a wonderful prime rib dinner with all the trimmings for approximately 220 people.  I am also grateful for the seven house sponsors, Union Bank, California Bank and Trust, Lake Arrowhead Presbyterian Church, Lake Arrowhead Hobie Fleet 434, Lake Arrowhead Rotary, Commercial Protein, and Lake Arrowhead Sunrise Rotary who managed to contribute in an economic down turn $1500 each and for Dave Bennett for donating $2000 to get our shirts printed.  That is wonderful.  Then there are those who are too numerous to list in this letter who gave so generously.  Rebuilding Together is so grateful!!

I also want to give thanks to our Board of Directors who spent so much time and energy throughout the year.  They are always there when we need them.  We could not function without these generous folks.  With all the generosity and good will within this close knit community, I am looking forward to another great year.  So, do yourself a favor next April, come out, pitch in, and bless a needy neighbor.

I thank God for this community, God bless you all,

President
