Rebuilding Day 2026 Recap
Rebuilding Together Mountain Communities would like to thank all the volunteers, trades, suppliers, and donors for their generosity as they came together and worked to help their community on Saturday April 25th. This year we worked on three homes and one community center.
House #1 belongs to a lady in Cedar Pines Park. She received a thorough yard clean-up including tree trimming, weed whacking, and raking. One side of her house was painted and there were minor interior repairs made and some rodent proofing. Shafe Electric repaired some major electrical issues. Her chimney will be swept and a tree very close to the house removed.
House #2 belongs to a lady in Crestline. The volunteers worked to clean her yard with much raking and weed whacking. She had a load of donated firewood stacked and tarped. Some ground cover was planted. Concrete was cracked, broken, and uplifted by her shed. The old concrete was demolished and new was formed and poured by A. Polston Concrete removing a serious trip hazard. She will receive new asphalt to remove other trip hazards.
House #3 belongs to a lady in Green Valley Lake. She also received a thorough yard clean-up with much yard waste and debris hauled away by Burrtec. Her deck was repaired as well as a safety rail installed by D Kraus Construction. Her home also got a new toilet and kitchen faucet installed by Ground Werks Plumbing and Rooter as well as a new water heater provided by Indoor Weather and installed by R.B. Plumbing Co. Indoor Weather will also install a new heater and duct work. She also had some electrical issues and lighting resolved by Shafe Electric.
Project #4 was the non-profit Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club (Leisure Shores) in Crestline. The volunteers beautified the center’s grounds with weed whacking, tree trimming, and pine needle removal providing a safer and more accessible outdoor space. The building’s inside Fireside and Lakeside rooms were completely painted along with the main hallway significantly enhancing the facilities appeal for its members and daily operations.
RTMC is pleased the day went well and we as a community helped some of our mountain homeowners stay warm, safe, and dry in their homes. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
