Rebuilding Day became Rebuilding Months for four Rebuilding Day recipients. What with the pandemic, quarantining at home, and the rest, RTMC decided to make it a paid contractor program for the second year in a row. All jobs were completed by June 30, 2021. Quilt squares were donated by the Dogwood Quilters Guild to each of our 2021 home owners.

House #1….A 73 year old single woman with disabilities. She has lived in her Crestline home for 33 years. RTMC was able to trim trees overhanging her roof, repair a number of electrical issues that were unsafe and replace deck guard rails.

House #2….A couple in their 80’s and have lived in their Lake Arrowhead home for 42 years. Both have health and mobility issues. RTMC was able to remove and replace their driveway as it was unsafe for them getting in and out of the house.

House #3…A past recipient who has lived in her Crestline home for 22 years. RTMC replaced part of her deck two years ago and the rest of it this year. We also rebuilt interior stairs/ladder to her loft and made a shelf for her microwave.

House #4…A 77 year old single woman living in Running Springs. She has lived in her home for 11 years. Her front deck, which is her parking deck, was rotted. RTMC replaced most of the deck and added a metal handrail going down her stairs to her entry. This job turned out to be much more expensive than we anticipated, but we were able to use a generous Wells Fargo Builds grant toward this repair.

In a world of sickness, social unrest, murders and rancorous politics, it is a comfort to know whatever happens people will continue to help others just for the joy of helping.

Until Rebuilding Day April 30, 2022, take care and keep the faith.
