REBUILDING TOGETHER POWERS THRU THE WEATHER
After years of mostly good weather on Rebuilding Day, there came a sampling of rain, sleet, and snow on our April event. This unexpected climate created a challenging atmosphere for volunteers working on the 5 homes we selected this year, and a bit of worry for all. However, as I drove the dedicated reporters from our newspapers around from house to house, we were pleasantly surprised. We found joy and smiles on all the volunteers laughing at the weather, turning strangers into new friends and friends closer as they went about their assigned tasks. Wood was being split, leaves leaping into trash bags, and sawdust flying into the air. On one site in particular the house was so full of action it was like a crowd scene in a ballet with the artists moving around in perfect harmony. Of course, not everything could be done in the rain, so the dedicated house captains would return, when possible, to complete these essential items.
I have said more than once that it is like a kind of miracle every year and it was no different this April 26, 2025. When all the dust cleared though, it revealed a job well done and some very happy homeowners and volunteers.
At the dinner that evening bows were taken congratulations were given and a warm glow was taken home by those that had participated and a thought of next year for sure.
Rebuilding Together Mountain Communities has had a rough year with funding shortfalls causing us at times to question our survival. However, the mountain communities came through and revived our resolve to keep giving.
Thank you, friends, for being the bedrock of support. Finally, thanks to the homeowners who opened their homes and allowed us to open our hearts to them.
Mission Statement
Repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives
Vision
Safe homes and communities for everyone

LET’S GET THE 2024 REBUILDING DAY ORGANIZED By TIM CLARKE
Calling all contractors who are interested in helping with Rebuilding Day 2024. To ensure success, it is our requirement that house captains be licensed contractors.
