As of this writing we have about 50 days until Rebuilding Day on April 25th. We are coming down to the wire and need to get a count of trade, non-trade and community volunteers. Please contact us at one of the addresses, e-mails, phone numbers listed below or click the “sign-up” link above. We, the mountain communities, make the miracle of giving to our neighbors in need happen each year and for each of the last 30+ years.
This year’s Rebuilding Day will be a little different. Make no mistake, we will still have those Jensen’s yummy donuts in the morning and a hearty lunch at noon. The primary difference is that we will have only 3 houses this year due to various problems with the excessive cost of the desired repairs, site restrictions, or legal complications. In keeping with the national organization’s guidelines, we have decided to do a community improvement project. The Senior Center in Crestline has been chosen to receive an indoor paint job and, weather permitting, some exterior work as well.
We look forward to a productive day of friendship, fulfillment, and gratitude that will be a day we can look back on warmly knowing we have made a difference in other’s lives.
So, we are looking forward to seeing our friends on April 25, Rebuilding Day.
