REBUILDING TOGETHERS PROCESS OF CHOOSING

Tim Clarke

Like people, houses can have problems that if not repaired can cause more major problems. Even the smallest leak under a sink can spread and before long you must replace the cabinet and the floor beneath it. Rebuilding Together sees this all the time, all these and more can add up to the kind of expenses that we don’t have a budget for. Each time we do a home inspection we have to look carefully to ensure that we don’t get in over our heads. We have learned this the hard way in the past few years having committed to too many jobs leaving us no reserves. Thankfully, because of the generosity of our community we can continue our mission.

The good news is that we are in the process of planning our Rebuilding Day event with the traditional continental breakfast at the Twin Peaks Community Center, with the lunches being prepared for distribution to the houses, and the spaghetti dinner that evening for all to celebrate a job well done.

We are looking for contractors to volunteer as house captains and trades people to provide their specialties wherever needed along with a non-trade coordinator leading our faithful community volunteers in providing helping hands to our neighbors.
